Icon Design

It is helpful to create your icons to represent the unique character of your local area or to be able to tag precise data for specialist map-making projects.

Designing and adding your own set of icons to the Green Map Platform can be a thoughtful, creative and fun activity for your community. There are do it yourself instructions in the Quick Start Guide. If you want help creating a custom icon set, we offer a design service.

You can use our design process to engage young people and harder-to-reach groups with your Green Map project by co-creating icons reflecting specific diversity and culture.

How does it work?

Let us know your project details or share the icon ideas, and we do the rest. Typically an icon design project will include a 30 min icon design workshop with a designer, two drafts of your icons and supplying them in a format you can upload to the Green Map platform.
